  • Doug Linker beginners tutorials

Doug Linker is making a series of beginner videos and so far he has stropping, types of wood, and techniques/safety. I have only watched the stropping one and just started the types of wood tutorial. They seem excellent and maybe a candidate for "stickies."

I've been downloading all of Doug's carving videos since he started. Excellent reference material but like Gene Messer's YouTube video's....you soon get overwhelmed with all the projects that you want to take on.

I agree, Eddy but I seem to have more of Doug's now than Genes. Doug's don't require any "cutting out" and find them easier. Gene's and Doug's are great assets to carvers. Impresses me.

And he does his carvings with one knife. I’m always thinking this gouge or this V tool would make this easier. And yet Doug creates amazing carvings with just the knife.
