I must have watched the video of Alan Goodman 10 times before trying to carve the first one. I give my wife number one of everything. By the time I get to the last one (at least 6) I keep telling myself that I need to carve “my bride” a new one. For the elf’s, I carved 14 to date.

Like children, each one is different…..hopefully to the better. I have done some steps a little different, engineers are always wanting to change stuff.

Try to carve as much as I can, however my love is working outdoors. When it is cold and or bad weather, great time to carve.

I watch a lot of different carvers, carve different things and pick one to try for myself.

I started carving with a chainsaw, but wanted smaller and more details.

I then took up dremel carving and gouge carving.

I wanted to trying knife carving and find it…to me…more rewarding.

I have tried painting….watercolor, acrylic, and oil. The pictures in the background are mine.

I am very glad I found this site for help and ideas
