Missing Something…

I decided to make my previous little guy a significant other, but she is missing something. I feel like the waist is blank, should I carve something else (what?), or just paint a pattern to the dress maybe? Also her mouth looks funny to me. I'm open to suggestions.

you could put and apron on her.

the face needs to be more rounded - it's a little flat...making the corners of her mouth protrude.

Maybe add some lines for a stripe or flowers.

Do a google search and look up facial proportions. I have found a few diagrams that have helped me over the years. As people we key in on the face instinctively. We notice things that are off a bit. It's ok to distort for effect once you have the basics down.

Leave her alone. She is old. Her family has come and gone for thousands of years = she has seen it all. Maybe more definition/relief in the arms.
She reminds me of many of the female figurines found in archeological sites.

You know, it was intended to be a dress, so I figured she'd didn't need feet, but now that you say it, some feet and a little ankle showing might do the trick. Maybe even just some shoes poking out and of her dress bunched up over them would look better.
