Great for holding small items you are carving such as a butterfly etc. I use mine with knife and power carving it allows you to get nice and close without endangering your digits. It's 6" inches and uses a wooden wedge to tension the clamp and has leather lined jaws. I bought this one at Fire Mountain Gems online or check your local bead and findings shop.

I have one somewhere like the exploded drawing view. The exception is where that one has a wood wedge, mine has hinge. The bolt is what clamps the "vise" end together. It is made out of 1x2 maple, about 8 or 9 inches long and the "vise" clamp end has been rounded off like the ring clamp. The end with the hinge has been sanded a little to make it more comfortable to hold.

Thanks everyone, I tried to link from my facebook post on our Prescott Woodbee Carvers page. Sorry
I see Robeson Valley furnished you with the Fire Mountain link and I thank him. Love the different takes on this type of clamp. I have even been using my clamp while painting small objects. Handy Dandy little tool.
