The info is out about the September/October Stetson Zoom Class.
From Dave Stetson's Facebook page: "Upcoming class on Zoom app. Sat & Sun, Sept 26,27, Oct 3,4,10,11; 9:30 - 11:30 am, Phx time. Carved from a rough out. Interested, contact Dave [email protected] for details. Class will cover designing and execution of an Heirloom Santa." 118150266_2661373890769263_6214937507623472406_n.jpg
The cost of the class will be $115US. Send Dave an email if you want to join the class. You'll need a roughout for the class. These are available at Dgosnellwoodcarving.com

If this class is anything like the Carving a Female Face class that I took, it's definitely worth the time and money.

Great job Claude! They are all well done. The one on the left is my favorite. The women on right has a great expression on her face......like someone just told her something she doesn't agree with...."mm mm hmmmm." The subtle painting is a nice effect as well. I'm curious as to how long it took to carve one of those.

Nice work Claude. I read something the other day on FB that the eyes of a female are at the center line in height of the face where the male eyes are just above the centerline.

Looking at your three fine women that you carved, the one to the right seems to do just that and to me, looks the most feminine. Thanks for sharing!

Actual carving time, probably 4 hours each. But that was spread over about 8 hours for each, as I would watch a couple of minutes of the video, then pause it and attempt to do the same thing Dave did. If it didn't look correct, I'd back up the video and watch again...

Just an FYI for those wanting to learn how to carve a realistic female face, Janet Cordell is planning an online tutorial class on just that topic. She has a few more things to get settled and will be posting the info on her FB page as well as her website after that. She is easy to follow and is a premier carver of the female face.

I didn't mean to step on the class from Dave Stetson. I have followed his work for years. Have to say, you did a really lovely job on your female faces, Claude. Love the different expressions you achieved with them.
