The bigger it is the longer it takes, more chips. That pose is going to take more thought time also. Too bad you do not have a live model...photos are hard when there is motion like that. It is coming along nicely.

          Dileon,

Yes I’m struggling with getting the right leg rotated properly that is why I went ahead and separated the right arm from the hip need to establish the right side line of the body then plan to follow it down through the leg to get it sorted.

It was an interesting day at the bench.

It was one of those days when the mind was covering a lot of ground without going anywhere. It occurred to me that I could do a carving for the church’s annual fund raising auction. Then I recalled we have a couple who every year donate a basket with several bottles of wine, so we can enjoy watching Sister Ann make the sour lemon face each time she walks past the basket. Then it occurred to me I could do a hot Mary carving. You know form fitting tunic give her all the bells and whistles. Wondering what reaction that would create. Of course I then realized that would be. Wrong? Possibly even blasphemy.

It then came to me that this is I think my seventh nude woman carving. Five of those were either commissioned or requested by women. One for a high school friend based on his original drawing and one, just because I felt like it.

Then I thought of how many of my wife’s church friends follow my carvings on face book and how many more comments I get from them about the nudes. I’m back to think the hot Mary could be a money maker, for the church.

              Today’s photos

That would be interesting watching your rear end kicked out of the church or they would be chasing you down in order to do an exoticism to get the demons out of you. If that happens put it on video I have not seen a real exoticism other than the movies.

Ed carve an Adam then you would have a biblical couple! Just leave out the apple.

Just put your Mary on the deck of the "Proud Mary" river boat. Then she would be a Mary merrily rollin' on the Mary. Your carving is coming along good!
