  • Female form carving

So my client has agreed to let me post progress photos. Provided I make sure that none of the original photos appear in my posts.

    So we started here.

    This is my rough out.

And this should give you some idea of where I hope to end up. After enlarging the original photos to scale, they were place under a .08” sheet of plexiglass and traced. These and the photos will be my reference materials for this carving.

        Photo update:

Working on basic shapes, big gouges digging out lots of wood. Wishing I had a decent bandsaw.

Well Christmas is coming. Thanks for looking.

            Randy,

It is great, and we are in the middle of our biannual hummingbird migration so a bonus view these days.

The hummingbirds are leaving here now two. When we really see them is in March - April when the whole city is full of blooming Azaleas.

Before they slip me over the standing part of the fore sheet, let them pipe: "Up Spirits" one more time.

                          Merle,

It actually is one of my surprising observations. Naked woman, eagle head, Einstein’s mustache it all just taking measurements and moving wood.
