Nice job on the fish and the knife! Please do post some more pics of the knife. I e never used a hook knife. What is the square thing sitting on your vise? Thanks.

4ND3R5 I have one of those. It's an inexpensive vise. I have mine on my drill press to hold wood while I'm drilling. Got mine at Harbor Freight for a low price.

GREAT (no small), like both of them, naked and painted...what kind of brush you use for so tiny things??

Thanks Claude for identifying the press vise! It is a WEN 3" drill press vise off amazon for around $20. On top of that is a magnifier that lets me accurately trim the scales of the fish. I would ideally like to get one of the desk mount ones with an integrated light but there is only so much cash in my pocket....

I have also attached a few shots of my knives. Just completed a set of single bevel hook blades and absolutely love them. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask

Pallin: You have awesome references time and time again - adding this name to my bookmarks as well. So many awesome wood carving styles that I have not even touched yet - thanks for sending this one over!

Thank you for clarifying the square thing sitting on your vise was a magnifying glass. I should have been able to figure that out; I can see it clearly in the picture now. Nice knives.
