There are lots of things we put on the skin have zero regulations,....for example, baby products which have been found even to burn the skin of babies and to have arsenic in it and yet nothing is done. We believe the FDA is regulation force but in fact there are tons of products out there that are very dangerous to the human body. When you dig into the reasons why...basically it is because the FDA does not do their own research. If they require such research , tons of products we use are not. Those products do not have to submit safety research per FDA. Other products the research comes from the labs of the very manufacturer which has corp. based scientist, doctors ...and noted the last 50 years super bias reports... add money and corruption and it makes a very interesting subject. Anyone can make makeup or body lotions and sell it....as tons of other products including, medical devices. Medical implants being top of this list, you're going to see world-class action lawsuits soon on this whole subject. If you saw the real material data sheets on most products...you would be horrified at the toxic biochemistry of it. So when you use pigments or fixatives of any kind of paint...you need to be safe as there is no such thing as safe, darn stuff is not tested for safety. Or even ....if it is often noted in research as having a long history of killing people or causing disease, it is not regulated as people think. Right now there is a major problem lead being in foodstuff....used as a color. Our government does not think, it appears as being the good guy while doing basic nothingness. Ever interested in this subject??? ...do mass research it is a horror show when you dig into it. A two minute video FDA Meeting makes my point.......https://vimeo.com/377808499?ref=fb-s...5Ykl6Z7o2F2cRI

This is really thinking outside of the box! I went to Lora's site and read the little article...very interesting. She does recommend sealing the carving afterwards.

There is a major reason why they are so cheap, most are illegals from China because not regulated it so ....they come in big time, and the way I make my own oil paint is the very same ingredients that they are using to make these colors only few different fixatives....noted to be very toxic on the skin. Some documentaries out there on this subject. But as an artist...great stuff with a bright color to use on top of the paint and then seal it.

Thanks for the direction and tips. The only draw back is I might have to drive 50 miles to get it.So the locals don't see me in the makeup department. LOL Thinking about it, they all think I'm crazy anyway, so I'm good. LOL
    Thanks again.

Think if I read it right you paint it first, like you always do and then you highlight it with the color in the areas you want. I have to agree with that method....because those kinds of powder pigments are somewhat transparent which adds another hit of color but it does not go on thick like paint. More like an airbrushed highlight of color. What it does do is really make have bright highlights that really show off work. A great example is if you want Santa cheeks blushed then use the makeup and seal it.
