Dear mods: If this is an inappropriate place for this , please feel free to move it.

I found some charts online about blade styles. I couldn't find a thread about it but I'm sure there is.

Although you could carve with those blades, they are not carving blade styles.
Every day should be unwrapped like a precious gift.

Hahaha. I KNOW now and feel like such a stooge. While I was viewing the blades I was thinking the blades just didn't look right but the charts are tiny and I couldn't really see 'cause I'm on an iPhone
Thats my excuse and I'm stickin' to it????

Could a mod kindly remove this please?

Actually they are not carving blades....but I know a lot of carvers use them, because they have no money to buy carving tools. These blades can be sharpen to scary sharp and they can be carving blades if the metal is good enough. While it is noted the simple easy way is to buy carving knives.....we often note that it is not the tool you use but the person who is carving with the tool. I know master carvers who have tools from hell, yet the work they carve is beyond imagination. There is also people who carve with a box knifes. Also few who live on the dangerous side of X-acto carving blades which can break and fly into your face. .

Don't feel foolish, Spiritwolf. You're a newbie, and we've all been there...and we still are, to one degree or another. The point is, you're asking questions and making posts. Participation is the key for us all to learn from each other.

Ok - I moved you... I agree that these are not carving knives, but could be used if sharp and no others available.
