  • New knives i made

These new knives were made for student's use in my classes. I cut the blades out of a commercial bandsaw blade. It was a 24' x 9" x 1/8" blade that had been wrecked when it hit a horseshoe embedded in a tree. I have a 5' section. I used my Oz+ with a Dremel cutter to cut them out and finished them on my Tormek and then my wet stones. A couple are relief carving knives, one detail knife and one general carving knife, the handles are Walnut and maple burl wood.

Those are some great looking knives wc'. The students should love those.
If I took the time to fix all my mistakes, I wouldn,t have time to make new ones.

It is very thoughtful of you to provide good sharp knives for the class. Nothing can "turn off" a beginner faster than having to start with a long lesson on sharpening.

The Oz+ is the latest Ram power carving tool. It is brushless and has incredible torque at low speeds and zero vibration. The bandsaw the blade came from is awesome. It is used to cut old growth huge tree stumps into slabs.

Beautiful looking knives, well done. How do they cut?

Before they slip me over the standing part of the fore sheet, let them pipe: "Up Spirits" one more time.
