Pricing Used Tools

A carving friend of mine passed away recently. His widow would like for me to advise her on pricing his Flexcut knives and gouges. I have always bought my tools new. I use Drake knives and gouges, so I have no insight into the Flexcut world. Is there a rule of thumb for pricing used tools, like % of new price?

I would suggest pricing at 1/2 the cost of new.

Good advice, and the key word here is "getting," as opposed to 'asking."
