  • Pricing Used Tools

A carving friend of mine passed away recently. His widow would like for me to advise her on pricing his Flexcut knives and gouges. I have always bought my tools new. I use Drake knives and gouges, so I have no insight into the Flexcut world. Is there a rule of thumb for pricing used tools, like % of new price?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I would suggest pricing at 1/2 the cost of new.

@Dave: Thanks, Dave. That was my thinking, but I wanted to get the opinions of others.

      Happy shaving...

Look at what people are getting on eBay to get an idea of worth.

Good advice, and the key word here is "getting," as opposed to 'asking."
