I received this photo from a friend and thought just to show all you in this great site what can be done with a hand saw.?? I could not do this to any of my old saws.

Interesting, but kind of a shame , those saws looked to have plenty of life left in them. The one on the right looks to be an old "Philadelphia Diston " one of the best hand saws ever made ( IMO)

I don't doubt it Tom, I have a couple friends that have those $$$$ units And computer controlled . Of which sometimes I would like to have but $$$$$$ ..

Say Wayne,, I too thought it was a bad thing, considering the old saws, of which I have several and one that my Father had is an anniversary 1849-1949. Also I have made replacement handles for 3 others. As an older carpenter I used to be the saw sharpener both circular and hand saws for my Dad all fun. Now days saws are too "cheep"/ inexpensive to re-sharpen...

I've seen something like that, but done with old shovels. I can imagine that shovel restoration isn't a top priority in the antique business. There's a tribe of people restoring and collecting old hand saws. Apparently, not the most economical of hobbies. I don't think that these ^^^ would look any better with paint.

Thanks for posting, Chuck, and never saw that done before. I have seen numerous painted saw blades before and some very creative.
