I started with Flexcut palm tools and they worked fine and still do.I upgraded a lot of my palm tools to Drake, but a couple of weeks back I managed to damage in one form or fashion all of the v tools that I normally used. I was very glad that I still had my Flexcuts and they still filled in just fine!

My original was part of a palm tool set for beginners; it grew legs and walked off so I bought another when I visited the shop in Branson, MO. Still use it.
There's half a dozen Vee tools each with a specific bevel angle. My 12/8 is 60 degrees in the Vee and 20 degrees along each edge. It takes very, very little to keep that tuned up.
Flex cut was my first palm tools and I used then for years. Like others I have moved to Drake tools but my daughter has the flex cuts and they are still good.
Anybody have any experience with Flexcut FR307 1/4" 70° V tool?
I know I'm getting one for Christmas.
Flexcut 45 and 70 degree V-tools work pretty good as long as you keep them as sharp as possible. I stay away from 30 degree V-tools as I've never had much luck using them. Seems like all they do is get clogged up and bind. However, it could also be that I'm just not using it correctly.
Eddy, I've found using the 30° V, I need to start at the end of the line/cut with a small cut the work myself up the line with a small cut until I reach the start of the line/cut that I'm wanting to cut. Again my 2¢
I'll add my $.02 here. I mostly use a 45 deg V tool. If I need to define a line more, I'll go over it again. Never had much call to use a 30 deg.
