I had this knife a couple of months ago, but finally got around to getting it carving sharp. 2" upsweep, blade is made from an old sawzall blade, handle is maple. It works great. Thanks for looking.

Looks very similar to the one that you made me. Mine is the best upsweep that I've ever owned. Certainly the sharpest. If you had the mind to, you could easily go in business, be the next up and coming carving knife company.

I use a belt sander to rough it in. Then use Tomz knife massager to put on the final edge. Tom is a member here and makes and sells the machines. Then I use a power strop, which is a 1x30 belt sander with a leather belt. I turn the machine around on its back so the belt is moving away from you. Then I buff it.
