  • this is from Lora Irish tutorials on her page. I would finish it just like she did, great learning on how to do the ropes, chains, and finish the wooden poles....

  • Since you do not have the working skills nor tools then I would leave it alone, ....for one# the aged the legs may break if you start messing with it. If you want a nice base pay someone who knows what they are doing for the job that it would be worth peace of mind so you do not ruin the statue....unless...

One thing really bad about this medium is you have to work fast, which means also using a blow dryer to heat and control....more wax on the blow dryer. It is as hard as using gold leaf, which often leaves me muttering very loudly.... as the gold leaf is stuck on everything but the object, ....not...

Painting with wax although you can add inlay of all kinds of things, string, paper collage work, sculptural items, and the works. The paint, therefore, is what connects it all together as one element like in this painting is made of various kinds of elements to make it sculptural...so if you have a...

Yes, it is super messy, you need to have an area ready for wax mess and ventilation also is highly
recommended. Working with wax, the clean up on your tools, brushes, tables, floors, and cooking gear is not an easy task, it does get on everything. Also, note wax brushes...

  • Looking at your first two pictures....you got talent, and one more thing,.... do not work to be good, work to make the next one better than the last one you made. Keep those chips flying....

Actually this looks super easy....the whole thing looks like he used one color and then did the blow dryer on the top surface, making it hot enough to wipe off with the wood under it showing? You would wipe off the wax the same as you would a stain, leaving top areas showing the wood or color under...

The method is a very old way of painting, it takes an investment into new materials.... to learn how to do it. Called encaustic painting. You can make your own paint pigment or you can buy blocks which are expensive. I have a cook hot plate to melt it and apply it. It is wax so you have a limited...

Dry brush you use a brush, some newspaper or paper, ....put paint lightly on brush bristles and then dry out any water or liquids by taking the brush and wipe lightly on the newspaper, this will leave a dryer paint on the brush which you lightly brush against your piece of work. What dry brush is the...

    Hurricane number two visiting. Beta

Just breaking another hurricane, forecasted to hit Texas and due to an incoming trough, it will roll up the coastline in the Northeastern curved direction. Right now she is a tropical storm heading into ripe conditions for turning into a hurricane. Heads up Claude, Arthur, and Randy you got number two-headed...

Hate to do this, but looks like you may have to worry about Beta, a tropical storm turning hurricane to hit Texas and then roll up the coast in a curving North-Eastern direction because of a trough coming in. Which means depending on the curve and ever-changing predictions,... it is eyeballs out the...

Generators did a mass study about disasters and generators.

One issue is a hurricane the generator is on and then you go outside and the sucker has been stolen, a supernormal event during diasters. Videos after a hurricane and generators, the first issue can not find gas stations open,...

When I was younger it was nothing to be in one, but the older I get the more stress it is. Plus clean up is not fun either. I always have damage to the fruit trees so I got them tied to ground stakes every time one shows up and always blows over the banana does not take much wind, and then the massive...

  • The forum was super busy, lots of people, and tons of old pictures. It was the winter of Feb 2014 the site was hacked, good enough that it took over two years to get up and running sort of?? plus major work by IT people. We lost a lot of people then who tried to hang in there and gave up. The hard...

Actually the frame and background are perfect as it shows off the figures, the color blue is a symbol of the mother Mary. Fact that it is a darker blue makes the figures really stand out. The shape of the frame is perfect for this kind of relief. I think altogether the whole thing is perfect,...
