Looks good Anders. It's all these little things that you need to remember that add up to a great carving. You've done that!
Congrats!

If you near a carving club, ask the other members if you can try their knife to get a feel for the handle. Buy some cheap clay, put a handle full of it in your carving hand and squeeze until it's comfortable grip. This will give you an idea as the length--this is for people who have very large or very...

I know you mean business with the accuracy when I see a pair of dividers out on the bench. I am thoroughly enjoying this.
I have had a cigar box guitar I started--no where's near the beauty and effort you're putting into your guitar. I started it a while ago and it's...

I've carved small carvings using a knife and/or chisel from branches off a rock maple. As with any harder of the hardwoods, I just take smaller chips and strop often. Make sure whatever tool you used is god steel. I definitely found out which of my tools stands up to the test.

Nice!
Can't help with the running of colors. I don't burn so I just try to be careful, and like you said, be more patient. One tip you might want to try: When I paint with red, I use 10 drops of water to a drop of red. Then when I'm done with the red, and I have flesh to paint too, I add...
