I don't believe that there are too many bad carvers on YouTube. It all boils down to your taste and interests. While you're into faces and woodspirits, there are others on this forum that lean towards in the round, chip, and flat plan to name just a few. I don't believe anyone is underrated. Their notoriety...

Looks very similar to the one that you made me. Mine is the best upsweep that I've ever owned. Certainly the sharpest. If you had the mind to, you could easily go in business, be the next up and coming carving knife company.

I did two years at ONI and OP-92U at the Pentagon. Still didn't get to see the cherry blossoms. Being the Cold War the **** Russian subs kept us on 12 hour watches. After three days of those the cherry blossoms were the last thing on my mind....

Three years stationed in Japan and I can't ever remember the sakura blossoming. My only excuse is that we most likely weren't back in homeport at the right time. However, there was no shortage of the cherry blossoms in their culture and art.
