Very nice ending to a worrisome story. You certainly made out better than my wife has. After a couple of years of living with R.A. and having her hands become mishapen she first lost the "going steady" ring that I gave her when were 16. Then a year or so later her engagement ring slipped off...

Claude.... I've lost track of how many COVID shots I've had but since we have an appointment this coming Thursday to get the latest one I guess I'm going to have to dig around for our shot cards to take with us. Our local Publix says that the new variant vaccine has come in. Both my wife and i are...

You guys are my heroes. I knee at least one knee, both hips, and a back job but haven't had the courage to go back to Ortho. Of course given my medical status I'm not even sure if I'm a candidate.

You're right, nothing and as far as I'm concerned if this post has offended any of our members I welcome it to be taken down. I'd do it myself but I haven't figured out how.
I'd like to thank all who participated. It was very enlightening. Hearing and trying to understand some of the rationale...

tbox..... Again I respect your personal decision but I question two points that you have made.
The first is that the COVID shot is in fact a vaccine the same as the Flu Shot, Shingles, DPT, Yellow Fever or any other vaccine. Vaccines are administered in various ways.

While I certainly respect everyone's opinions and their decisions I have to say that I am still confused over the rationale. Mandated vaccines have been a part of the American Society for years. A good percentage of the carvers on this forum grew up at a time when it was an absolute must to have Polio,...

I agree. Like everything else in life you pays your money and takes your choice. But as old Forest Gump said, "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get!...

I understand what you are saying and my only reply is to quote Dr. Mike on on FOX," follow the science." If scientists and the Government posted as many positive mask articles on Facebook as the nay sayers have posted negative articles I believe that we would not be having this conversation....

You're preaching to the choir here Di! The question that always comes to mind is, if masks don't work why do health care workers wear them?...Last edited by Eddy-Smiles; 09-21-2023, 08:07 PM.

I agree. It's just my opinion and if anyone disagrees I wish them well and the best of luck. It seems that masks are in the same catagory as carving gloves. There are always those who claim that you don't need them if you're careful and if you do need them then you've done something wrong. But almost...Last edited by Eddy-Smiles; 09-21-2023, 08:06 PM.

To Mask Or Not.....That is the question.
Yesterday, a post from a very good friend and fellow club member came across my Facebook page stating that we shouldn't expect to see him on Facebook too much over the coming week as he contracted COVID and is bed ridden at the VA hospital. He included a photo of himself in bed hooked up to oxygen....

Claude and Rodster.... So let me see if I understand the process correctly. You go to DuckDuckGo..... down load it to your PC, and then once installed select it as the default browser? What happens to Microsoft Edge and Google?...

We picked up two larger table fans that are both powered by battery and USB. During the last big power outage I connected one of the fans and also a USB powered LED lite to our Jackery Solar Generator and the wife and I spent a pleasant quiet evening playing cards. The Jackery is great because it has...

We're entering Fall but we wont see a real cooling weather front for another three weeks to a month. We've got a half dozen of those little hand held fans. We keep them with our emergency (hurricane) supplies. As long as we have power we have A/C so they're really not needed....

I started out with a wooden box that I bought at Hobby Lobby. That lasted for about a year untill it got too small to hold everything. From there I graduated to a series of tool boxes, over time getting bigger and bigger. Now that I don't do any carving except at home there no more need for the large...
