    id forgotten til you mentioned it, as i was leaving laughlin that night, in BHC as a gas station were about 9 or so squad cars pulling up and surrounding one biker at a gas pump. I kept on travelin and never did hear what that one was about.

    the first few seconds of reading your first post, i assumed you meant leaving some stump for a chainsaw carving. chainsaw along with angle grinder is a good combination.. if it doesnt turn out well, it can be easily converted to campfirewood.

    my first glimpse of Laughlin was on a trip out there in the mid 80's, they were advertising their 5 casinos, having loose slots to generate interest in their town. I went in one , learned the rooms were $27 a night. i put 3 quarters instead of 4 in a slot and first pull in their place i collected...

    im thinkin of it as a "hub" centrally located from many many interesting places to visit and tour all of them much much closer than wisconsin. lots of state and national parks and various points of interest i would love to see....

    thanks for the input. i had been through kingman maybe 4 times, stayed a day a couple times. the heat was there alright, 101 but i could handle it alright because there was no humidity to speak of., elevation about 3500 feet and on the edge of the desert. BHC being back to sea level and humid...

    the bandsaw would have a world more power for slicing through a 4x4, you can put on various width blades on a bandsaw, from 1/8 inch for fretwork to 3/4 inch for ripsawing and sizes in between....

    hey again, i had decided to put my house and property up for sale beginning april, and spent the past 3 months sprucing the place up a bit. havent had much freetime for the forum or for woodcarving. but i am pretty well caught up now, and packed to leave from wisconsin to arizona (kingman).
