They are getting better each year with forcasting. Technology is improving all the time. Rain and spin off tornados are the big threats with TS and Cat1's in the 90's we had a cat 1 that sat over Mobile Bay for 3 days and dropped 30 to 40"s of rain, depending on the neighborhood you were in. Every...

Its ramping up early this year Eddy. Looks like Louisiana could end up with what is now 92L. And a newbie coming off Africa to soon to guess on it. The TD of the east coast will be a fish storm. But thats 3 start ups in the middle of June. Not a promising way to start....

Well just read a forecast for invest 92L now in the Bay of Campeche. It said those of us from Louisiana to the Florida panhandle may want to pre pair for the first topical storm of 21. They think it will be a TS by Thur or Fri. Coming ashore some where on the central gulf on the weekend. Forecast from...

I have not tried the bamboo Di. I have never liked the newer so called summer weight shirts and fishing shirts. Cotton is hard to beat in hot weather. I think you all have a breeze much of the time. We will go days with little to no air movement other than what we make as we walk. It is early for this...

    Hot summer has come.

100+ Heat index in the wearable air in Mobile today. Waters of th gulf in the 80's and it looks like we may have our first tropical low in the south west gulf buy next week. Hope it is not a repeat of last year gulf storms. I was to old for that last year.

I am in Mobile. I have not had any issues with finishing woods with a 12% to 15% moisture content. The two finishes I use most are tung oil and spar urethane. Teak oil can also be a good finish for our weather. You may have issues with cracking wit quick drying in a kiln....

Heat and humidity from May to November on the central gulf coast. Heat 90 + and dew points in the upper 70's, humidity in the 90's to 100% is a typical summer day. With no breeze. Referred as the "Dog Days of Summer". Howevere most of the late fall and early spring are times when I will take...
