I try to learn something from every carving. That's what I learned from this one, not to even put them in until I'm done with the power carving. I'm going to try some nail polish as others have mentioned....

Scratches on glass eye
I’m Working on dog with glass eyes inserted. I guess I’ve either bumped one eye with my foredom bit or sand paper. I’ve got a couple of small scratches in the center of one eye. Any suggestions on maybe buffing that out? I really hate to think about taking that eye out....

Turned birds head
i was wondering how do most of you turn your bird’s head on your carvings. Do you cut your pattern with the head turned or do you cut out the bird looking straight and then cut off the head and reposition it? If you cut it off how do you disguise the saw cut line?...

Patterns
I've been carving a while and like to make my own patterns. I still have problems with drawing out full body patterns, of course it doesn't help that I don't draw very well. I can usually find an image online that is close to what I want, but if I need an arm or leg in a particular position that is...

Does anyone remember what issue had an article about carving a bust of a dog? I think it was a Collie. I can’t remember if it even might have been a picture of a contest entry....
