As you may know I had a bad accident while carving at the weekend. I was just thinking how I've improved over the past twelve months. It's gone from this.

Thank you all for your kind words. I'm hoping it won't take too long. It's quite bruised and the cut needs to knit together. They steri stripped it and gave me some antibiotics. The chisel was scalpel sharp so the cut was clean, just a pity it went deep.

I was carving away at the time, it was just my hand was in the wrong position holding it. You live and learn.

Weekend off work. All set up and carving away on my latest project when I slipped and put a small micro chisel right through the glove and my finger. Luckily I missed the tendons but I have damaged the nerves and have lost the feeling in part of my finger. The doctor said it should come back in a couple...

I'm trying to get the ears a bit more defined. I spent some time just looking at ears. Must admit I got some funny stares from people, but they are the best reference and it's free. Anyway here he is.

He is made from limewood 6in x 3in.
Eyes and teeth painted with acrylic and dipped in boiled linseed oil. Finished with a wax.

I recently purchased both sets of Peter Benson Asley Isles micro chisels. To say they are quality is an understatement. They are beautifully made and razor sharp out of the box. Here is my first go with them. Hope you like him.
