Thank you.
I purchased the egg.
Now I wish I had not as it was not symmetrical.
But, making the adjustments to the carving added an extra challenge.
Chip carving on a moving surface like this is one of my favorite...

Two more coats of final finish with sanding in between are required, but this is essentially complete.

This is a hen size egg I'm just finishing up.
The wood is butternut.
Chip Carved with Acanthus motif with a stylized flower on top.
This is practice.
The two difficulties are pattern application and carving in end grain.
