Thanks for sharing that! I need to build a power sharpener, and that will be very useful.
I've been planning on coming down to Shell Knob some Tuesday and carve with you guys. When spring weather gets here, I'm going to do it.

Maybe I should clarify what I mean. I'm talking about just a slight 5 degree or so bevel. I was reading an old article by Chris Pye, and he talked about doing it. I haven't been, and wondered if I should be....

Inner bevel on gouges?
Do you put a bevel on the inside of your gouges or just beveled on the outside? I'm talking mainly about palm tools, not mallet tools, but would be interested in hearing about those too.

Portable tool storage ideas.
I've outgrown the tackle boxes I use to keep my knives and some of my most used chisel in. It's over full, and always seems like the tool I want is in a different box. It's really bad when I want to carve someplace away from home.
Anyway, I'd like to see what the rest of you use for storage/transport...

Seems like this would be a good place to ask a bandsaw question in stead of starting a new thread. What size blade would you recommend for sawing carving blanks, and ripping basswood blocks down to a smaller size?

Henckels chisels?
I got a set of chisels off of ebay, and outsmarted myself. They didn't say anything about what brand they were, and looking at the pics, I thought they were pfeils Handles looked right, and had a marking on the tang where pfeils are marked. Anyway, I was wrong. They are henckels. Just stamped Germany...

That carving looks incredible. Are there many wood carvings in the collection? I've been wanting to go down there, but just haven't yet. This may give me the incentive to get it done. I don't really live to far from there, only about an hour drive, if that much.

Chris is a friend of mine. I haven't talked to him in a while though, didn't know this was out there.
Chris is the nicest guy youd ever meet, and a heck of a good carver!

Best tool for roughout
Hi, what tool do you prefer for removing a lot of wood during the initial "rough out" stage. Large knife or gouge? Something else?
The carving im working on is a snowman that requires taking a 3 1/4 inch square down to a ball, so I need to remove some wood.

Re: Fed up!
I hadn\'t checked in for a while, but it seems to be working better. Not nearly as good as it used to be, but usable. Also, I figured out that if you\'re using a tablet, you have to request desktop site to get anything out of it.
I\'ll be back more often now.

Bulgarian adze?
Has anyone tried one of the axes or adze that have been being sold on eBay? They are made in Bulgaria, and aren\'t priced too bad, even when you add in shipping. I\'m always a little skittish about ordering from a foreign country, and I have no idea how the quality would be. Just curious if anybody...

Re: summer 2015 issue
This issue is a big improvement over the last one. Great job! Keep up the good work!

Re: still no pics
Problem is, all I get is thumbnail attached and paperclip icon, that is not click able. With my tablet, and most android devices, you can\'t left or right click.
