My suggestion is that no matter what your skill level - carve/whittle in public every chance you get.

1) it is a great conversaton starter
2) you may get new members...

The power carving station works very well.

I built one 2 years ago using a discarded home furnace blower and have never had to use anything other than the lowest power setting.

I used hardware cloth...

I bought a package of the interlocking tile a few years from Walmart. It was in the kids furniture area.

It makes a good walking service on cold concrete garage floor, but I dont think it would work so good if you are...
