Yes I've carved a few. They are quick carves and kids love them. I have a friend who carves pencils and gives them to kids at carving shows, local street fairs, etc. He carves mostly Santa faces and wood spirits.

If you ever have access to a live chicken, you can massage its stomach and it will more or less hypnotize (sp?) it. Used to do it all the time to my Grandparent's chickens. I know, I know, I'll go back to my room now. Don't know where I learned that...

You carve the best "waves and seas" of anyone who does water scenes. I've often thought I'd like to try some of the types of carving you do but just haven't worked up the courage to try. Your water scenes are super. Thanks for posting....

Do it just as you mentioned in the post above. He is the one wanting the work done, you are the one doing the job. If he wants them each done by hand, price them accordingly. Just my 2 cents worth. (May be the reason I don't get a lot of carving requests):...

If I were buying, they would have to be hand carved, for those prices. No offense, it's just that I don't care for poured castings. There are too many on the market now messing everyone up.
