Re: update on the knee
Hey Colin,
My Dad had both knees replaced and he picked up speed! Not only that but he got taller! No they didn't add any length, he had gotten bow-legged and the new knees straightened out his legs so he's back up to 6'6" again! He still works full time...

Well, to add to the confusion ...
Technically, wood-carving is an art form that is done with chisel, gouge, and mallet. A knife is used to shape and for fine detail.
Whittling is done with a knife only and is not considered art because of this....

I really don't carve for anyone in particular, I carve to let the thing out of my head. If my wife wants it, she can have it but she never asks for one. I have done pieces for her specifically, but that is not very often.

It wasn't even close to the storm back in `78{?}!
We had so much snow that it was over a foot thick on the front porch, which is three feet off the ground, and went out and up {the front yard slopes downward two feet over the twenty feet to the curb.}....
