Re: Power or edge tools?
I'm an edge man. I like the idea of making something complex with a simple tool. It seems more Hands On then the power carving. I do have a power carver that gets used every now and then when I just can't seem to clean up a corner or hole etc.

Re: Imp & Acanthus Panel
Yeah It is I had to glue in two pieces of the vine after I got finished with the router. I got a little carried away & hacked some off. Also I just made a workbench attachment that allows me to put my carving on an angle so I don't get a sore back...

Very nice Owl. I am sure he will be a complete success. I like the idea of situating him in a (window) to frame him.

Re: Coffee and a toothpick
Neat! I always like the idea of a carving that has a purpose. Good Idea. I have been trying to come up with an idea for something I could carve and insert one of those little 1-1/2" clocks in for my desk.

Re: Buffalo WIP
Hey the buffalo is looking good. BTW those little depth gauges with the clips are great. I recently lost mine and I feel a little lost myself carving without it.

Re: Sincere Thanks to WCI
My condolences on your Moms death. I know what a difficult experience losing someone to cancer is for all concerned. It sounds like a great treat for her to have seen your cover.

Re: Hi All I just want to introduce myself
Thanks for the kind words guys. As for the water & the mountains I agree with your comment Paul. I first tried to blend the mountains into the water but then you couldn't tell where the water ended and the mountain began. I have not tried...

Re: Hard Maple
I just finished the second of two panels for above the fireplace of stylized tulips. They were rock maple and although it looks nice it was slow going even though I did a lot of the grounding in with a router.
