Size is 16 X 20 so you've made a pretty good approximation. The grey is Miniwax oil applied about four times and rather heavy. Thanks for all the nice comments. Space was tight in some sections so I didn't under cut them but thanks for the constructive criticism!...

I get an idea in my head of the way I want my piece to look and if it is a commissioned piece I show pictures and get feedback from the client first. I utilize a carving sled clamped to the work bench. I prefer it flat, it is easier to use mallets and gouges on, and probably a lot safer. I prefer standing to work, I feel it keeps me more alert to the tasks at hand.
