some years ago i did of alot of repairing and refinishing antique pine furniture,and what i use to use is yellow ochre oil artist paint and make a stain using oil stain

Hifrom Cedar Valley,On. i carve just about anything(turkey,roastbeef,Ham) as far as wood mostly caricatures,but some birds, wood spirits just about anything that strikes my fancy. i use power,knives and or chisels.never a chain saw wife says i dangerous...

I had a similar situation when I first wanted to carve,in our local area there was a person giving lessons and i sighned up. the instructer had a similar attitued,within 3 weeks most of the class had quit because the instructer critisized peoples...

Lynn's suggestion is a good one-i have seen several of the bird carvers in our little group cut off sections of their rough-out and glue on a new piece when it doesn't look right. usually this is done early in the carving process.

right now my main interests are wood working ,and carvingand my volunteer work.but for years i have been a scuba diver,dive master,and dive instructor,and also doing underwater photography and videography....
