Nice one Daddio nice detail, do you like that feed& wax, I do but I used it O a cotton wood carving but I shouldn't have put it on the bark just on the carving cause it made the bark darken.

Hi all just finished this carving in time for our annual carving show in Amsterdam NY. We don't know what else to do there was a big festable downtown we had ads in all the carving mags it was on radio and tv, plus we put up posters and still we didn't get a very good turnout. I just thought I would...

I would start with some palm tools- 3-5-7-9
and a V tool. I would also get some 3/4" inch basswood to pratice on, one of thoses guitar bodies would be over your budget.
